Few distilleries capture the spirit of the Highlands like Ardnamurchan – remote, rugged, and full of character. For this release, we turn to Octave #233, a single cask distilled in 2016, matured in an Oloroso sherry octave, and bottled at 9 years old. This one was carefully picked out by Thomas, who couldn’t resist the depth and richness the sherry wood had coaxed from Ardnamurchan’s already bold spirit.

The octave cask, being smaller than a traditional butt, has worked its magic with intensity – layering rich sherry tones onto Ardnamurchan’s smoky, coastal DNA.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Dark chocolate, sticky figs, and black cherries, with a touch of leather and a wisp of peat smoke.

• Palate: Bold and velvety, with treacle toffee, spiced orange, roasted nuts, and sweet raisins, all wrapped around a smoky, savoury backbone.

• Finish: Long, warming, and indulgent – cocoa, espresso, and smouldering oak embers linger beautifully.

This is a sherry lover’s dream – rich, complex, and full of character, but still unmistakably Ardnamurchan. Thomas knew this cask was something special the moment he tasted it, and we think you’ll agree.
